# Bolivia authorizes SpaceX, Amazon, and other companies to provide satellite internet services in the country

According to a statement from the Bolivian government on December 23, the country's president, Rodrigo Paz, issued a decree authorizing the provision of telecommunications services via near-Earth orbit satellites. The statement noted that this will expand internet coverage in Bolivia, as companies providing Starlink services, such as SpaceX, OneWeb, and Amazon's space internet division Kuiper, have now been granted permission to operate in the country.
