# Livepeer - Improved Gateway - 31 May 2026

Livepeer’s public roadmap lists an initiative to “Improve the Gateway as a Product | Developer Infrastructure,” targeted around 31 May 2026 (roadmap). The gateway is the main access point for developers integrating decentralized video transcoding and streaming, so upgrades likely focus on reliability, latency, observability, and ease of integration. A more robust gateway can make it easier for Web2 and Web3 applications to route higher video volumes through the Livepeer network, potentially increasing fee revenue for orchestrators and stakers who secure the system and use LPT. If adoption and network usage rise meaningfully after launch, this can strengthen the fundamental demand case for LPT, although execution and timing risks remain.
