# Report: Numerous crashes on Chesapeake Expressway due to wrong-way driver

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Numerous crashes were reported on the Chesapeake Expressway Wednesday night caused by a wrong-way driver who has been taken into custody, according to Chesapeake Police.

Police said the crashes happened as the suspect, 51-year-od Daniel Tucker, was driving northbound on the southbound Chesapeake Expressway between the area of Battlefield Boulevard and Hillcrest Parkway.

Chesapeake Police say there are no serious injuries following that crashes.

Tucker faces the following charges:

-   DWI- First conviction
-   Four counts of Damage to attended property, driver fails to report ($1000 or more)
-   Damage over $250, driver fails to report or leave note
-   Five counts of Out of control or bad brakes
-   Fail to provide proof of insurance or payment of uninsured fee

He is currently being held at Chesapeake City Jail with no bond.
