# The acting president of Venezuela stated that he invited the United States to participate in formulating a cooperation agenda

On January 4th local time, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza released a letter from Acting President Rodriguez to the world and the United States.

The letter states that Venezuela reaffirms its belief in the pursuit of peace and peaceful coexistence, desiring to live free from external threats in an environment of international respect and cooperation. Venezuela believes that the construction of global peace must first ensure the peace of each country.

Venezuela considers it urgent to promote the establishment of balanced, respectful international relations based on sovereign equality and non-interference between the United States and Venezuela, as well as between Venezuela and other countries in the region. These principles guide Venezuela's diplomatic relations with other countries in the world.

The letter states, **the Venezuelan government invites the U.S. government to jointly formulate a cooperation agenda oriented towards common development, strengthening lasting community coexistence within the framework of international law.**

In the letter, the Venezuelan side expressed to U.S. President Trump that the people of Venezuela and the region deserve to enjoy peace and dialogue, rather than war. This has always been President Maduro's position; Venezuela has the right to enjoy peace, development, sovereignty, and a future.

In the early hours of the 3rd, the United States launched a large-scale military operation against Venezuela, raiding the capital Caracas and sending troops to forcibly control President Maduro and his wife and transfer them out of the country. Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, and Russia, among others, strongly condemned this action.
