AH shares all rise! The Shanghai Composite Index hits a new high in over ten years, brain-computer interfaces continue to explode, the Hang Seng Index rises nearly 2%, semiconductors strengthen, and Shanghai silver rises over 6%

On January 6th, the three major A-share indices continued to rise in the morning session, with the Shanghai Composite Index reaching a new high since late July 2015. The ChiNext Index briefly surpassed 3,300 points, and sectors such as brain-computer interfaces and semiconductor equipment remained active. Hong Kong stocks also rose, with both the Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng Tech Index increasing by over 1%. Tech stocks surged, with JD Health rising over 7%. In the bond market, government bond futures fell across the board. In commodities, domestic futures showed mixed results, with metal futures continuing to rise, including platinum, palladium, Shanghai silver, and Shanghai copper all increasing, while coking coal and coke fell. A-shares: As of the time of writing, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.88%, the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.54%, and the ChiNext Index fell 0.31%.

Hong Kong stocks: As of the time of writing, the Hang Seng Index rose 1.40%, and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 1.75%.

Bond market: Government bond futures fell across the board. As of the time of writing, the 30-year main contract fell 0.36%, the 10-year main contract fell 0.14%, the 5-year main contract fell 0.09%, and the 2-year main contract fell 0.04%.

Commodities: Domestic commodity futures showed divergence. As of the time of writing, lithium carbonate rose over 8%, platinum rose 7%, palladium and Shanghai silver rose over 6%, Shanghai copper rose 3.7%, Shanghai aluminum rose 2.6%, polysilicon, stainless steel, and Shanghai gold rose over 1%, while pulp, soybean meal, fuel oil, alumina, and eggs also increased. Coking coal and coke fell over 1%, while ferrosilicon, rebar, caustic soda, hot-rolled coils, asphalt, iron ore, and industrial silicon declined.
