# The single-day turnover of A-shares hit a new record, surpassing the historical data of 3.47 trillion yuan on October 8, 2024.

On January 12th, A-shares continued their strong upward trend, surging significantly. As of press time, A-share trading volume surpassed the 3.47 trillion yuan record set on October 8th, 2024, becoming a new single-day trading volume record for A-shares. According to Wind statistics, A-share trading volume has exceeded 3 trillion yuan six times previously: on October 8th, 2024; August 25th, 27th, 28th, and September 18th, 2025; and January 9th, 2026. It is worth noting that since mid-December 2025, A-shares have been on a continuous upward climb, with the Shanghai Composite Index achieving 16 consecutive days of gains. By the close of trading on January 12th, a 17th consecutive day of gains was virtually certain. The driving force behind the A-share surge on January 12th stemmed from a broad-based breakout in AI application themes and the continued positive performance of commercial aerospace concept stocks.
