# This crazy-looking EV has Hyundai and German engineering

It’s not a Hyundai, BMW, or Rimac, but it uses components from all three. Ceer is a new EV brand, and its first vehicle was just spotted out in public with a design that’s… unique, to say the least.

## Ceer is Saudi Arabia’s first domestic EV brand

Launched in 2022 by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Ceer is Saudi Arabia’s (yes, that Saudi Arabia) first homegrown electric vehicle brand.

The company will be the first Saudi auto brand to build EVs domestically for sale in Saudi Arabia and a few overseas markets, such as the Middle East. However, it does not currently produce its own technology.

Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Hon Hai Precision Co. (Foxconn), but uses licensed BMW technology to develop vehicles.
