# MercadoLibre lays off 119 people due to its AI expansion, Folha reports

> SAO PAULO, Jan 12 (Reuters) - E-commerce firm MercadoLibre, which operates across Latin America, laid off 119 people in a move related to its artificial intelligence expansion, Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paulo said. The layoffs included 38 people in Brazil, MercadoLibre’s largest market, Folha reported.

SAO PAULO, Jan 12 (Reuters) - E-commerce firm MercadoLibre (MELI.O) , which operates across Latin America, laid off 119 people in a move related to its artificial intelligence expansion, Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paulo said. The layoffs included 38 people in Brazil, MercadoLibre’s largest market, Folha reported.
