# Xinhua Commentary | Hegemonic behavior will only plunge the world into chaos and turmoil

Xinhua News Agency published an article stating that at the beginning of the new year, the United States has taken a series of unilateral actions that have thrown the world into turmoil: launching a raid on Venezuela, forcibly detaining Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife and bringing them to the United States; threatening to "obtain Greenland by any means necessary"; claiming to be considering "hard options" for intervening in the situation in Iran; and threatening Cuba to "reach an agreement with the United States before it is too late"… This series of hegemonic actions once again proves that the United States has become the number one source of disruption to international order and global instability
