# Cordlife renews cord blood and human tissue banking licences

**Conditions were set specifically for its cord blood banking permit.**

Cordlife Group Limited has secured renewal for both its cord blood banking service licence and human tissue banking service licence.

In a bourse filing, the company said the fresh cord blood banking permit is valid for a year from 14 January 2026 to 13 January 2027. Meanwhile, two years were granted for its human tissue banking service licence, valid from 14 January 2026 to 13 January 2028.

Cordlife voluntarily stopped the collection, testing, processing and/or storage of any new cord blood units since 30 September 2025, a day after the September 2025 notice from the Ministry of Health (MOH) that flagged possible lapses.

Specifically on the cord blood banking licence, authorities laid out several conditions. This includes that the company shall not collect, test, process and/or store cord blood units from infant donors, including a person appointed to provide the aforementioned services on behalf of the company, for the duration of its Licence except within the permitted scope and subject to the conditions set.

Cordlife was also told to replace its clinical governance officer with someone who meets the requirements in regulation 4 of the Healthcare Services (Cord Blood Banking Service) Regulations 2021 on a full-time basis.
