# Trump claims approval for NVIDIA H200 chips to be sold to China, US government will take a 25% cut

> U.S. President Trump confirmed on Wednesday that the U.S. government will approve NVIDIA's export of its AI chip H200 to China, but the government will charge a 25% sales fee as an additional charge. Trump stated that unlike NVIDIA's previous chip H20 aimed at the Chinese market, the H200 is a derivative version of the company's Hopper architecture, which is also sold in the U.S. and other markets

U.S. President Trump confirmed on Wednesday that the U.S. government will approve NVIDIA (NVDA.US) to export its AI chip H200 to China, but the government will charge a 25% sales fee as an additional charge.

Trump stated that unlike NVIDIA's previous chip H20 aimed at the Chinese market, the H200 is a derivative version of the company's Hopper architecture, which is also sold in the U.S. and other markets
