
Approaching 5 trillion: China's power grid investment in the next 5 years far exceeds the "14th Five-Year Plan"
On January 15th, the State Grid officially announced that the total fixed asset investment during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period (2026-2030) will reach 4 trillion yuan, an increase of 40% compared to the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, with an average annual investment scale of 800 billion yuan. Subsequently, the Southern Power Grid disclosed that its investment scale for 2026 will be 180 billion yuan, and the industry generally expects that the total investment of the Southern Power Grid during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period will reach around 1 trillion yuan. Based on this calculation, the total investment of the two major power grids over five years will approach 5 trillion yuan, a figure that far exceeds the 2.64 trillion yuan during the "12th Five-Year Plan" and the 2.85 trillion yuan during the "13th Five-Year Plan."
