# A-shares closing: The ChiNext Index rose 0.54% after hitting a high, with precious metals and chip stocks collectively strengthening

The market fluctuated throughout the day, with the three major indices showing mixed results. The precious metals sector experienced a collective surge, with stocks like SC GOLD and Western Gold hitting the daily limit. Semiconductor chip stocks strengthened, with LOONGSON TECHNOLOGY and Dagang Co., Ltd. also reaching the limit. Computing hardware stocks rebounded, with Dazhu CNC and Kechuan Technology hitting the daily limit. On the downside, consumer stocks fell, with Huanle Home dropping over 10%. More stocks rose than fell, with over 3,000 stocks in the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets in the green, and today's trading volume exceeded 2.62 trillion. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.08%, the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.7%, and the ChiNext Index rose 0.54%
