Leading companies are taking frequent actions, and the commercialization of sodium batteries is reaching a critical juncture
Since 2026, the sodium battery industry has made breakthroughs, with leading companies taking frequent actions. Among them: CATL released the first mass-produced sodium battery in the light commercial vehicle sector; Zhongna Energy's 10,000-ton sodium iron sulfate cathode material base has been put into production; companies such as CNGR, EVE Energy, and Tianna Technology have also reported good news in order delivery, capacity construction, and technological research and development, accelerating the implementation of the entire industry chain. Industry insiders believe that as the industry chain gradually improves and costs continue to optimize, sodium batteries are now ready for large-scale commercial promotion. With advantages such as good low-temperature performance, high safety, and significant cost potential, sodium batteries are continuously penetrating scenarios such as energy storage, two-wheeled vehicles, and start-stop power sources. Industry predictions suggest that sodium batteries will replace or supplement lead-acid batteries and some lithium batteries in multiple fields, with 2026 expected to be a key node for their commercialization.
