# Spot gold rose over 4.5%, reaching a historic high above $5,400, while New York futures gold increased by more than 5.8%

On Wednesday (January 28), at the New York close, spot gold rose by 4.53%, reaching a historic high above $5,415 per ounce. During the Asia-Pacific session until 16:00 Beijing time, it continued to rise, generally stabilizing in the range of $5,250 to $5,300 during Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's speech, and has "accelerated" upward since 03:08. COMEX gold futures rose by 5.83%, reported at $5,378.80 per ounce, and at 05:06 (electronic trading), it reached a historic high of $5,391.30, continuing the trend of setting new historical highs over the past few days
