# IHH Healthcare invests in US medical company TibaRay to introduce new tumor radiotherapy technology | Lianhe Zaobao

Local listed company IHH Healthcare has strategically invested in the American medical technology company TibaRay, introducing a new ultra-fast, high-precision radiation therapy (FLASH) technology.

IHH Healthcare announced this news in a statement on Thursday (January 29).

The group stated that this groundbreaking technology from TibaRay allows radiation therapy to be performed over 400 times faster than existing technologies, significantly shortening treatment times compared to traditional radiation therapy, while enhancing efficacy and reducing unnecessary radiation to surrounding healthy tissues, thereby improving the overall treatment experience for patients.

This technology is built on years of particle accelerator physics research from Stanford University, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, and Arizona State University, as well as over a dozen background patents.

Ashok Pandit, Chief Corporate Officer of IHH Healthcare Group, stated in the announcement that this investment aligns with the group's transformation strategy, "which can deepen our oncology treatment capabilities and promote influential cutting-edge technologies in the industry, thereby supporting our layout of excellence centers in key specialties such as oncology, cardiology, and orthopedics."

According to the agreement, both parties will collaborate on clinical evaluation, knowledge exchange, and future deployment.

Currently, IHH Healthcare's core markets include Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, India, and Greater China
