The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued a notice on improving the capacity pricing mechanism for power generation. The notice pointed out that the capacity pricing mechanism for coal and natural gas power generation should be improved. According to the requirements of the "Notice on Establishing the Capacity Pricing Mechanism for Coal Power" (Development and Reform Price [2023] No. 1501), localities will increase the proportion of fixed cost recovery for coal power units through capacity pricing to no less than 50%, and may further increase it based on local market development, coal power utilization hours, and other actual conditions
