# Genting Group Executive Chairman Lim Kok Thay appointed Chairman of Resorts World Sentosa | Lianhe Zaobao

Genting Singapore has appointed acting CEO Lim Kok Thay as the Chairman and Director of Resorts World Sentosa.

Genting Singapore announced on Friday (January 30) that this appointment will take effect on Sunday (February 1), meaning that the Executive Chairman of Genting Group will also lead the board of Resorts World Sentosa (RWS).

Previously, the then CEO and Chairman of Resorts World Sentosa, Tan Hee Teck, announced his retirement in May last year, and Lee Si Ru took over as CEO of Resorts World Sentosa in the same month, while the position of Chairman remained vacant.

Genting Singapore stated that as the Chairman and Director of Resorts World, Lim Kok Thay will provide leadership to the board of Resorts World and be responsible for the overall effectiveness of the board in formulating strategic direction and overseeing its governance.

Lim Kok Thay is the son of Genting Group founder Lim Goh Tong and joined Genting Group in 1976, currently serving as Executive Chairman. He is also the Executive Chairman of Genting Singapore On Friday, Genting Sing closed up 0.69% to SGD 0.735
