# Boxer Ryan Garcia denounces Trump in wake of Epstein files controversy

Professional boxer Ryan Garcia is retracting support for President Trump amid ongoing questions over his administration’s handling of the Epstein files.

“This is my public declaration and announcement, I’m reclining my past support for Donald Trump,” the boxer wrote in one social media post. “Anyone that was involved in any thing to do with that island and what they were doing, I just can’t support in anyway.”

Garcia added “Children need to be protected, everyone knew better f— that.”

Trump has taken heat from critics and some supporters over how the Department of Justice has handled the release of files relating to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump is repeatedly mentioned in the tranche of documents released last week, however, the president claimed the new files “absolve” him in comments to reporters over the weekend.

Trump has distanced himself from Epstein and said ongoing interest by Democrats and his critics over his former ties to the sex offender are a “hoax.”

Garcia, who has more than 1 million followers on social media, had been a vocal supporter of Trump and has drawn criticism for offensive comments toward the LGBT community. He is currently suspended from boxing after testing positive for a banned substance.

“To everyone saying that trump is innocent and was proven false,” the fighter wrote in another social media post over the weekend. “I’m not taking chances, I only stand with the kingdom of God you guys can go to hell and back defending your political figures and parties.”
