# Report: GIP teams up with EQT to bid for power giant AES

Bloomberg cited sources familiar with the matter reporting that BlackRock Inc.'s Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) has partnered with Swedish private equity giant EQT AB to jointly bid for power company AES Corp.

The two investment firms may reach an agreement to acquire AES in the coming weeks. AES currently provides renewable energy power to tech giants like Microsoft
