# Michael Burry Names the Companies He Thinks GameStop Should Acquire

Famous investor Michael Burry shared his thoughts on Monday about which companies GameStop (GME) could buy after CEO Ryan Cohen spoke about pursuing a major acquisition. While Cohen has not named a specific target, he said that he is looking for a publicly traded, consumer-focused company that is undervalued, well-run, and capable of long-term growth. He also noted that the ideal target would have strong fundamentals but a management team that has not fully unlocked its potential.

Interestingly, Burry believes that Cohen has the financial flexibility to pursue a large deal. He pointed to GameStop's 0% convertible bonds and warrants, which could provide roughly $6.1 billion in additional net cash if the stock rises into the $30 range. From Burry's perspective, Cohen may approach several companies and effectively buy controlling stakes in them. He described this approach as "Instant Berkshire" (BRK.B), where GameStop would build a collection of strong businesses that generate steady cash flow or excess capital for reinvestment.

As for possible targets, Burry highlighted ADT (ADT) as a top candidate due to its cash flow, customer base, and potential operational synergies. Wayfair (W) was next on his list, mainly because of its logistics network and customer relationships. He also mentioned several other companies that could fit this strategy, including:

-   Assured Guaranty (AGO)
-   Penske Automotive Group (PAG)
-   Mattel (MAT)
-   Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM)
-   Sirius XM (SIRI)

In addition, Burry said that casino operators like Wynn Resorts (WYNN) or MGM Resorts (MGM) could be interesting alternatives to Wayfair.
