# PayMore Continues Rapid Expansion with Plans for 96 New Stores in 2026

Electronics resale chain **PayMore** plans to continue its aggressive store expansion in 2026 with the opening of **96** new locations across the U.S. and Canada throughout the year.

The franchise retailer — which pays cash for customers’ used electronics, then refurbishes and resells them — already had more than doubled its store count in 2025, from **71** to **150** locations in the U.S., Canada and the UK. The 2026 openings will clock in at an average pace of **eight per month**, and the company said in a post on X that nearly half of the planned openings for this year are already supported by signed leases and active letters of intent.

Since 2011, PayMore has processed nearly **2 million** devices. Co-founders Stephen Preuss and Erik Helgesen shared their plans for the chain on an episode of Retail Remix, saying the ultimate goal is to have more than **500** stores across the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Those growth plans are certainly aided by the current wave of consumer enthusiasm for shopping secondhand, but Helgesen believes that experience also is a crucial component in building a resale brand: “When we come into these communities, we have great technology, we have great spaces, well-lit locations, great staff and very safe trade-in procedures that allow people to walk in, trade in their tech safely and easily — no appointments, no shipping — and walk out feeling good about their data security and the cash in their pocket,” he shared on the Retail Remix podcast.
