Historically, the bottoms of major bear markets in 2011, 2015, 2018, and 2022 have closely approached or slightly breached this line. The 'Banana peel' support is a term coined by Brandt in his long-term Bitcoin price analysis. He visualizes Bitcoin's logarithmic price trend from 2010 to the present as a banana-shaped parabola or arc, known as the Bitcoin Banana chart.
