# The European Union significantly raised the anti-dumping duties on Chinese ceramic tableware to 79%

The European Union reviews the anti-dumping measures implemented since 2013 and decides to significantly increase tariffs on imported ceramic plates, cups, bowls, and other table and kitchenware from China. The 27 member states of the EU will raise the tax rate on related products from the original 13.1% to 36.1% to a uniform tariff of 79%.

The European Commission stated that Chinese ceramic manufacturers are owned, controlled, or guided by the government and receive support in the form of favorable financing, land, and raw materials. The EU used data from Turkey as a reference to reconstruct the normal costs of raw materials, labor, and energy, and determined that Chinese manufacturers export products at artificially suppressed prices
