The CPI base period rotation primarily involves the revision of the survey classification directory. In this round of the base period, based on the United Nations' "Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (COICOP) 2018" and China's "Classification of Resident Consumption Expenditure 2013," adjustments were made to the CPI survey classification directory according to actual conditions after thorough market research and feedback from various parties. After the adjustments, the number of major categories and basic classifications remains unchanged, still consisting of 8 major categories and 268 basic classifications. Based on the reduction, merging, and splitting of certain classifications, new classifications reflecting new consumption content have been added, such as housing security equipment, elderly products, dishwashers, automotive power, photography services, internet medical services, and medical beauty services, further expanding the coverage of new economies and new fields. In addition, based on the actual content covered by the survey, the category name "Food, Tobacco, and Alcohol" has been changed to "Food, Tobacco, Alcohol, and Dining Out," and the category name "Tourism" has been changed to "Travel Agency and Other Tourism Services"; to better reflect the overall changes in residents' travel consumption prices, a new travel service price index has been added, which includes categories such as airplane tickets, train tickets, accommodation, vehicle rentals, travel agencies, and other tourism services ### Related Stocks - [iShares MSCI China ETF (MCHI.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/MCHI.US.md) - [Roundhill China Magnificent Seven ETF (DRAG.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/DRAG.US.md) - [Invesco Golden Dragon China ETF (PGJ.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/PGJ.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Zelos achieves RMB 10 billion valuation after new fundraise and Cainiao fleet merger](https://longbridge.com/en/news/276860768.md) - [China urges halt to military actions in Iran conflict](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277421000.md) - [01:30 ETCIFF Guangzhou 2026: CIFM/interzum guangzhou 2026 to Connect Global Supply Chains](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277413689.md) - [US trade panel to probe impact of revoking China's permanent normal trade status](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277092067.md) - [09:33 ETHonTrip to Debut at ITB Berlin 2026 with Seeking China, Unveiling AI-Driven Cultural Travel Experiences for China Inbound Tourism](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277639336.md)
