As of February 11, the spot price of scrap copper was 88,500 yuan/ton, an increase of 24.46% year-on-year and a rise of 0.11% month-on-month. This week, production across various regions shows that there are signs of slight year-end production increases in areas like Hubei and Henan, resulting in an overall decline in operating rates that is slower than expected. In contrast, regions such as Jiangxi, Sichuan, and Hebei have adjusted their production pace in advance due to poor downstream consumption at the year-end. Currently, there is still processing profit in scrap copper processing, but uncertainties in fiscal and tax policies, along with severe fluctuations in copper prices, have dampened enterprises' willingness to retain scrap copper inventories for the holiday, suppressing scrap copper procurement prices.
