# The UK economy grew by 0.1% quarter-on-quarter in the fourth quarter, falling short of expectations

The UK's economy grew less than expected in the fourth quarter, further increasing pressure on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to resign. The Office for National Statistics announced that the UK's economy grew by only 0.1% quarter-on-quarter in the fourth quarter, while the market had expected a growth of 0.2%. The growth in the third quarter was also 0.1%. In December alone, the UK's economy grew by 0.1%.

For the entire last year, the UK's economy grew by 1.3%, higher than the 1.1% expected for 2024
