Major airlines like Lufthansa (LHAG.DE) and Qatar Airways are becoming important customers for Starlink, but the product is less appealing to budget carriers that rely on ancillary services to compensate for low ticket prices. “As far as I know, … if you install Starlink, you’re not able to … charge for the use towards your passengers,” Karlsen said. He added Starlink was not certified for the Boeing 737 aircraft, although it will be in the future. Ryanair (RYA.I) CEO Michael O’Leary last month publicly clashed with Elon Musk, whose company SpaceX operates Starlink, about the use of its services. O’Leary said that Starlink would cost the airline up to $250 million a year. Another budget airline, EasyJet (EZJ.L) , said in January it was exploring a Starlink Wi-Fi deal, but “the economics” were not quite working for it. ### Related Stocks - [Jet2 PLC (JET2.UK)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/JET2.UK.md) - [Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DLAKY.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/DLAKY.US.md) - [easyJet plc (ESYJY.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/ESYJY.US.md) - [easyJet plc (EZJ.UK)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/EZJ.UK.md) - [Air Partner plc (AIR.UK)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AIR.UK.md) - [Ryanair Holdings plc (RYAAY.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/RYAAY.US.md) - [Deutsche Lufthansa AG (LHA.DE)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/LHA.DE.md) - [The Boeing Company (BA.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/BA.US.md) - [Ryanair Holdings Plc (RYA.UK)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/RYA.UK.md) - [US Global Jets ETF (JETS.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/JETS.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Ryanair prioritising repatriating its customers in Jordan, CEO says](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277612587.md) - [Ryanair sees summer fares between flat and up 5%, CEO says](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277618809.md) - [Korean Airlines' Carbon Emissions Decline 3.3% in 2025](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277137815.md) - [Lufthansa suspends flights to and from Tel Aviv, Beirut, Oman](https://longbridge.com/en/news/277286588.md) - [Southwest Starlink WiFi Push Raises New Questions For LUV Investors](https://longbridge.com/en/news/276935064.md)
