# The Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into potentially contaminated baby formula involving Nestlé and Danone

The Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into contaminated infant formula, involving brands such as Nestlé and Danone.

The prosecution stated on Friday that the investigation concerns possible violations of the crime of "fraudulent acts concerning goods that pose a danger to human health," which could result in a maximum sentence of seven years and a fine of €3.75 million.

The investigation, led by the public health department of the prosecution, will clarify whether lives were endangered due to violations of safety regulations, failure to recall contaminated products, and other violations, and establish relevant responsibilities
