The nuclear fuel license is good for the next 40 years and will allow X-Energy to produce nuclear fuel using enriched uranium at two facilities in Tennessee. X-Energy said that it plans to begin making the nuclear fuel in 2028. "Regulatory approval brings us one step closer to a resilient, American fuel supply for next-generation nuclear technology, advancing our energy security by closing a longstanding gap in the U.S. nuclear fuel cycle," said the company in a statement. ## **A Win for Amazon** The nuclear fuel license obtained by X-Energy is seen as a win for Amazon and other technology companies that are turning to nuclear power as a clean energy source to power their artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. Microsoft (MSFT) has floated the idea of restarting the Three Mile Island nuclear site to power its AI data centers in future years. Amazon has a strategic partnership with X-Energy, including a $500 million investment, to develop and deploy small modular reactors (SMRs) to power its energy-intensive AI data centers with carbon-free nuclear energy. ## **Is AMZN Stock a Buy?** AMZN stock has a consensus Strong Buy rating among 44 Wall Street analysts. That rating is based on 41 Buy and three Hold recommendations assigned in the last three months. The average AMZN price target of $282.14 implies 41.93% upside from current levels. ### Related Stocks - [Amazon.com, Inc.
