# BYD and Geely may bid for factories in Mexico. Cui Dongshu from the Passenger Car Association: Mexico will be China's largest automobile export country by 2025

> BYD and Geely have made it to the final acquisition list for the Nissan - Mercedes-Benz Mexico factory. Due to the U.S. tariff policy leading to the shutdown and increased layoffs at the Mexico factory, Chinese car manufacturers are actively seeking to establish manufacturing bases in Mexico. Cui Dongshu from the Passenger Car Association stated that Mexico is expected to become China's largest automobile export country by 2025

Recently, it was reported that, according to informed sources, China's two major automakers BYD and GEELY have made it to the final acquisition list for the Nissan-Mercedes-Benz factory in Mexico. Against the backdrop of the U.S. tariff policy leading to the shutdown of the Mexican factory and a wave of layoffs, China is actively seeking to establish manufacturing bases in the country.
