# Alibaba releases Qianwen 3.5, performance comparable to Gemini 3, Token price only 1/18 of it

> On February 16th, Alibaba released the new generation large model Qwen 3.5-Plus, which performs comparably to Gemini 3 Pro, making it the world's strongest open-source model. The model has 397 billion parameters, with significantly improved inference efficiency, and the API price is only 0.8 yuan per million tokens, which is 1/18 of Gemini 3 Pro. On February 16th, the eve of the Lunar New Year, Alibaba open-sourced its new generation large model Qwen3.5-Plus, which rivals Gemini 3 Pro, topping the list of the world's strongest open-source models. Qwen3.5 has achieved a comprehensive innovation in its underlying model architecture, with the newly released Qwen3.5-Plus version having a total of 39.7 billion parameters, with only 17 billion activated, outperforming the trillion-parameter Qwen3-Max model. The deployment memory usage has been reduced by 60%, and inference efficiency has significantly improved, with the maximum inference throughput increased by up to 19 times. The API price for Qwen3.5-Plus is as low as 0.8 yuan per million tokens, only 1/18 of that of Gemini 3 Pro. Qwen3.5 has been pre-trained on mixed text and visual data, achieving a breakthrough in native multimodality, and has performed excellently in comprehensive benchmark evaluations in inference, programming, and Agent intelligence, winning several top performance awards in authoritative assessments of visual understanding capabilities. It is reported that the Qwen APP and PC version have already integrated the Qwen3.5-Plus model. Developers can download the new model from the MoDa community and HuggingFace, or directly access API services through Alibaba Cloud BaiLian. (Hard AI)
