# Chief Executive of South Africa's SPAR resigns, finance chief to take over

JOHANNESBURG, Feb 20 (Reuters) - The chief executive of South African grocery retailer SPAR (SPPJ.J) , Angelo Swartz, has resigned with effect from February 28 and will be replaced by finance chief Reeza Isaacs, the company announced on Friday.

-   Swartz has served the group for 19 years, including as group CEO since October 2023.
-   During his tenure, he led the business through a challenging period of operational stabilisation, portfolio simplification and balance sheet strengthening, SPAR said.
-   Swartz will remain available to the group over the next three months to support transition and assist in concluding strategic initiatives currently under way.
-   Swartz will be replaced by CFO Isaacs from March 1.
-   Current Chief Operating Officer Megan Pydigadu has been appointed CFO with effect from March 1.
