# Lo Shupei: The proportion of mainland audiences at some local concerts reaches 60%, which helps boost the economy of Hong Kong

> Luo Shupei stated that hosting large concerts in Hong Kong can attract a large number of mainland audiences, with some concerts having a proportion of mainland audiences reaching 60%, which helps revitalize the local economy and promote the development of the catering, logistics, transportation, and hotel industries. She emphasized that culture and sports are important economic carriers, and suitable investment projects can bring business opportunities

Regarding the suggestion for the society to build new attractions in Hong Kong, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Kevin Yeung, stated on a radio program that if there are suitable investment projects, it would be a good thing. However, if attractions remain unchanged, it will eventually make people feel "tired."

He emphasized that to revitalize tourism in Hong Kong, culture and sports are very important carriers. Hosting large concerts can attract many mainland visitors to Hong Kong, with some concerts having up to 60% of their audience from the mainland, which can boost the local dining, logistics, transportation, and hotel industries. It can also create business opportunities, such as fans inviting makeup artists to do their makeup before watching performances and taking photos, which will also drive peripheral products related to the events
