# U.S. Futures Down, European Stocks Inch Down

U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.6% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.5%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.3% in morning trading. JD Sports Fashion climbed 4% and Enel added 3.4%. On the other hand, Johnson Matthey slipped 12.4%, and BELIMO Holding lost 10.5%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 decreased 0.2% and Germany's DAX fell 0.7%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.2% to 94.65.

In commodities, Brent crude dropped 1% to $70.62 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 1.1% to $65.76 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was down 1.1% to 31.67 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield was flat at 2.738%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 1 basis point to 4.084% from 4.091%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were up. Markets in Japan were closed. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 2.5%. Markets in China were closed.
