# Acer's Chen Junsheng: Memory shortages will last at least until mid-year, PC price increases trigger urgent order effects

Acer Chairman and CEO Chen Junsheng stated in an interview yesterday that he expects the memory shortage to last at least until mid-year, with the situation in the second half still needing to be observed. As major manufacturers like SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron are accelerating capacity expansion, the supply-demand gap is expected to gradually narrow.

Chen Junsheng mentioned that since memory and storage-related components account for about 25% of the BOM (Bill of Materials), memory prices have already increased by 50% to 100%. Therefore, PC prices will also inevitably rise this year, leading to a surge in urgent orders for the company, with January revenue increasing by nearly 40%
