# Hong Kong Express's passenger volume during this year's Spring Festival exceeded 280,000, a year-on-year increase of 15%

Popular destinations include Penang, Jeju, and Phu Quoc, and the company expects passenger numbers to continue to grow throughout the year. The company will increase flight frequencies to popular destinations and expand its Asian route network

Hong Kong Express Airways stated that this year's Spring Festival travel peak, combined with the mainland's nine-day extended Spring Festival holiday, has driven travel demand. During the Lunar New Year period (February 13 to 22), passenger volume recorded significant growth, surpassing 280,000 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 15%. Among them, the number of mainland travelers increased by over 50% compared to last year's Lunar New Year, while the number of Hong Kong travelers also rose by more than 30%, reflecting the continued strong overall travel demand, with February 20 being the peak travel day, accommodating over 30,000 passengers in a single day, setting a new record for Hong Kong Express's single-day passenger volume.

During this period, emerging destinations were particularly popular, with the largest increases in passenger volume for destinations including Penang (118%), Jeju (83%), and Phu Quoc (65%). Hong Kong Express expects the passenger volume for these three destinations to continue to grow steadily throughout the year. Hong Kong Express Airways CEO Mao Jieqiong stated that travel demand during the long Spring Festival holiday was strong, with Hong Kong travelers' desire to travel abroad remaining high. Additionally, as the mainland welcomes its longest Spring Festival holiday, more and more travelers from the Greater Bay Area are choosing to depart from Hong Kong for their trips, leading to a significant increase in overall passenger volume. The company has responded to the increased demand by adding flights to popular destinations such as Bangkok, Seoul, Taichung, and Busan, and will continue to expand its Asian route network while leveraging the advantages of Cathay Pacific Group's route network
