# Bowtie's new headquarters has moved to Wan Chai, with over 10,000 voluntary health insurance policies taken out in the second half of last year

Hong Kong virtual insurance company Bowtie officially unveiled its new headquarters, the "Bowtie Building," located in Wan Chai. Bowtie co-founder Yip Yiu Fai stated that having a physical location can enhance customer confidence. The company achieved a voluntary health insurance enrollment of 10,000 policies in the second half of 2025, doubling year-on-year.

Bowtie secured naming rights for the new headquarters in Wan Chai and signed a 5-year lease, occupying 7 floors. The ground floor and loft will house a coffee shop, while the remaining 5 floors will serve as office space.

## John Tsang: No Look at the Budget

John Tsang, a senior advisor at Bowtie who attended the event, mentioned that the "Bow Coffee" on the ground floor also serves as a community activity space, not just a coffee retail outlet. Regarding the announcement of the "Budget," Tsang, a former Financial Secretary, simply stated, "I haven't looked at the budget; let's talk about insurance issues."

## Physical Locations Enhance Customer Confidence

Yip Yiu Fai emphasized that the office has brand effects and will not increase operational costs, and that physical locations can also enhance customer confidence. He noted that the voluntary health insurance enrollment reached 10,000 policies in the second half of 2025, doubling year-on-year, reflecting a change in the public's insurance purchasing habits. In terms of the company's business, individual customers account for over 50%, and it is currently in a rapid growth phase, with a long-term goal of ranking among the top three in the health insurance market.

In terms of financial performance, Yip stated that Bowtie's customer retention rate exceeds 90%, with an average customer lifespan of over a decade. The unit economics are impressive, with every HKD 11 invested generating a profit of HKD 2 to 4
