After being incubated for five and a half years under Google's "Moonshot Factory" X project, Intrinsic became an independent subsidiary within Google's "Other Bets" segment in July 2021. This Wednesday, the company announced that Intrinsic will be reintegrated into Google. It is understood that despite the continuous decline in hardware costs such as robotic arms, programming robots remains extremely complex, often requiring professional engineers to manually write hundreds of hours of code, with significant differences in the development logic of different models of robots. Intrinsic's core product, Flowstate, is a web-based platform that allows users to build robotic applications without writing thousands of lines of code. Intrinsic stated in its announcement: "After joining Google, we will be able to integrate our strengths and collaborate in the cutting-edge field of artificial intelligence (AI) covering research and development, deployment, and daily operations, helping to implement industrial applications in manufacturing and logistics." The announcement also mentioned that the platform will integrate with the Gemini model and Google Cloud technology in the future, and will work closely with Google DeepMind. This integration elevates the software platform to the level of Google's enterprise core strategy, helping Google better compete with rivals such as Amazon (AMZN.US) and Tesla (TSLA.US). It also indicates that as collaboration with Google's AI team deepens, the company is ready to scale its products. In November last year, Intrinsic announced a partnership with NVIDIA (NVDA.US) supplier Foxconn, planning to deploy AI robots in Foxconn's U.S. factories for the assembly of electronic products.
