Competition law scholar Andreas Stephan filed one of the lawsuits on behalf of over 200,000 third-party retailers, valued at up to £2.7 billion. His lawyers accused Amazon of manipulating the "Buy Box" feature on its website for its own benefit and favoring products that use Amazon's own logistics centers and delivery network. Consumer rights advocate Robert Hammond also filed a lawsuit on behalf of millions of Amazon customers, valued at up to £1.3 billion, accusing Amazon of abusing a similar dominant position. Amazon has previously stated that these allegations are baseless. Amazon argued that these cases should not be certified as early steps in the litigation process, partly because the economic methods used to prove these cases are flawed. The Competition Appeal Tribunal certified both cases last year on an opt-out basis, meaning that members of the claims collective will be part of the case unless they decide otherwise. Amazon had sought to appeal this decision, but the appeals court rejected that request on Thursday. Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment ### Related Stocks - [Direxion Daily AMZN Bull 2X Shares (AMZU.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AMZU.US.md) - [GraniteShares 2x Long AMZN Daily ETF (AMZZ.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/AMZZ.US.md) - [VanEck Retail ETF (RTH.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/RTH.US.md) - [Global X E-commerce ETF (EBIZ.US)](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/EBIZ.US.md) - [Amazon.com, Inc.
