Our dietitian says these 10 high-protein Costco picks deliver I firmly believe there are two types of snackers: those who want something dense and filling, like a protein bar, and those who prefer something crunchy they can munch on by the handful. No matter which camp you fall into, Costco has you covered. The warehouse stocks an impressive lineup of high-protein snacks that can help you hit your daily protein goals and stay satisfied between meals. When it comes to protein intake, most Americans do a solid job at lunch and dinner — and sometimes at breakfast too. But snack time? That’s where things can get a little carb-heavy. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with carbs, if you want your snack to actually hold you over, aim for items that contain about 10 to 20 grams of protein (or more, depending on your calorie needs, fitness goals and what you’ve already eaten that day). The good news? From crunchy, savory bites to creamy shakes and sweet snack bars, Costco makes it surprisingly easy to upgrade your snack routine. Whether you’re refueling after a workout, powering through a busy workday or just trying to avoid the mid-afternoon energy slump, these high-protein picks have you covered. ### Perfect Bar, Variety Pack **Serving size:** 1 bar | **Calories per serving:** 330 or 340 (depending on flavor) | **Protein per serving:** 15 or 17 g (depending on flavor) When it comes to protein bars, I have two go-tos: Transparent Labs and the Dark Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter with Sea Salt Perfect Bar. Since Transparent Labs bars aren’t sold at Costco (though if anyone from either company is listening, I’d be thrilled to see them at the warehouse), Perfect Bars are usually what end up in my cart. Yes, they’re higher in calories than many other protein bars, but I love the ingredient list and how genuinely filling they are. They’re made with whole-food ingredients and have a rich, almost cookie–dough–like texture that feels more like a treat than a “protein bar.” They do need to be stored in the fridge for long-term freshness, but they’re fine in your purse or backpack for up to a week. Just a heads up: They soften quickly. Personally, I think they’re perfect after sitting in my work bag all morning and enjoyed as an afternoon snack. Depending on the flavor, Perfect Bars contain 3 to 4 grams of fiber and 12 to 13 grams of added sugar (from honey), so they’re a bit sweeter than some other options — but for me, the taste and staying power make it worth it. P.S. Costco now sells Mini Perfect Bars, which pack 5 grams of protein for 120 to 150 calories. They’re not especially filling on their own, but they make a great afternoon treat or an easy add-on to yogurt, fruit or veggies for a lighter, lower-calorie snack. Pros - Filling - Made with recognizable ingredients - Cookie dough-like texture Cons - Higher in calories than many other protein bars - 12 grams added sugar - Needs to be refrigerated $20 at Costco _Our health content is for informational purposes only and is not intended as professional medical advice.
