Users can activate the Perplexity assistant simply by saying "Hey Plex" or by long-pressing the side button. Additionally, the Perplexity application is pre-installed on every S26 phone, requiring no downloads or extra setup. This also marks the first time Samsung has opened system-level access permissions to applications not developed by Samsung itself or Google. As a result, Perplexity is allowed to operate at the system level, with permissions to read and write to Samsung's native applications, such as Notes, Calendar, Gallery, etc. Users can directly query information through conversation, save answers to Samsung Notes, and even set calendar events. ## Perplexity as the Engine Behind Samsung Bixby Furthermore, Samsung Bixby will utilize Perplexity's API for real-time search and reasoning on the backend, combining real-time web search with large language model reasoning capabilities, enabling Bixby to provide answers that are sourced and up-to-date. At the same time, the Samsung browser will also integrate Perplexity's API, introducing features similar to its AI browser Comet, and allowing users to set Perplexity as their default search engine ### Related Stocks - [SOXX.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/SOXX.US.md) - [PSI.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/PSI.US.md) - [SSNGY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/SSNGY.US.md) - [SMH.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/SMH.US.md) - [SOXL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/SOXL.US.md) - [XSD.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/XSD.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Samsung Set to Beat Apple to AI Smart Glasses With July Launch](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286308070.md) - [Chinese Retailers Rush to Clear Samsung Home Appliances From Shelves After Exit Announcement](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286248026.md) - [Samsung Management, Union Fail to Reach Deal to Avoid Strike](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286197035.md) - [Key facts: Samsung to Begin 18-Day Strike May 21; Market Cap Tops $1T](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286483779.md) - [BREAKINGVIEWS-Pay dispute backs Samsung into a tight corner](https://longbridge.com/en/news/286182656.md)
