# Amazon and large tech stocks fell due to OpenAI's latest $110 billion financing

After OpenAI disclosed on Thursday that it has completed a new round of financing amounting to $110 billion, Amazon and other large tech stocks fell.

Amazon's stock price dipped nearly 1%, while Microsoft and Meta Platforms saw their stock prices drop over 2% and 1%, respectively.

Amazon participated in this round of financing and also announced a multi-year strategic partnership with OpenAI. According to the announcement, as part of the agreement, both parties will jointly develop customized models to support Amazon's customer-facing applications.

This round of investment has raised OpenAI's pre-money valuation to $730 billion, a significant increase from the $500 billion valuation during the second round of financing last October. OpenAI stated that with the progress of this round of financing, more investors are expected to join
