The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker announced on Saturday a limited-time subsidy of 5,000 yuan ($729) for its Yuan Up pure-electric SUV, alongside extended low-interest financing of up to seven years for its popular Qin Plus sedan. The Yuan Up is a compact electric SUV priced between 74,800 yuan and 119,800 yuan in China. In some overseas markets, the model is known as the Atto 2. In November 2025, BYD launched the Yuan Up DM-i hybrid SUV in Europe — the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the Yuan family — which is unavailable in China's domestic market.
