# Oil prices surge amid the Iran crisis, CNOOC rises over 5%

> After the United States launched an attack on Iran and killed the Supreme Leader Khamenei, Iran retaliated against Middle Eastern countries and closed the Strait of Hormuz, causing international oil prices to surge over 10%. CNOOC's stock price opened up 5.06%, currently reported at 26.62 yuan, up 5.13%. Sinopec and PetroChina also rose by 2.94% and 4.19%, respectively

The United States launched an attack on Iran, killing Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran also retaliated against Middle Eastern countries and closed the Strait of Hormuz. This news stimulated international oil prices to surge more than 10% this morning (2nd), with May Brent crude oil and April New York crude oil both rising over 5%.

The three major oil companies in Hong Kong rose against the market trend this morning. CNOOC (00883.HK) opened up 5.06%, reaching a high of HKD 26.78. It is currently reported at HKD 26.62, up 5.13%, with a trading volume of 52.988 million shares, involving HKD 1.412 billion. Sinopec (00386.HK) reached a high of HKD 5.66, currently reported at HKD 5.61, up 2.94%.

PetroChina (00857.HK) reached a high of HKD 10.1, currently reported at HKD 9.94, up 4.19%, with a trading volume of 69.2119 million shares, involving HKD 675 million. (mn/w)
