The geopolitical situation in the Middle East has suddenly escalated, leading to sharp fluctuations in oil prices, with A-share oil and gas stocks experiencing a strong surge. Market risk aversion has increased, boosting the precious metals sector.

On March 2, A-shares opened lower across the board. Initially, the three major indices rebounded, with the Shanghai Composite Index turning positive first, but then fluctuated downwards, with the ChiNext Index dropping over 1%. Oil and gas stocks surged, the aerospace and military sector rose significantly, and the precious metals sector was boosted. According to a previous article by Wall Street View, the United States and Israel jointly launched a large-scale military strike, resulting in the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, marking the most severe shock to the geopolitical landscape in decades.

Hong Kong stocks opened lower and continued to decline, with the Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng Tech Index both falling initially, the latter dropping over 3%, and tech stocks generally declining. In the bond market, government bond futures rebounded across the board. In terms of commodities, most domestic commodity futures rose, with the shipping index soaring over 10%, briefly hitting the daily limit. Core market performance:

In terms of news, last week, Dion Harris, head of AI infrastructure at NVIDIA, showcased the internal structure and supply chain details of the next-generation Vera Rubin computing system to the media at its headquarters in California. The Hang Seng Index opened down 1.22%, and the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 1.78%.

Tech stocks generally fell, with Nio down over 4%, XPeng and SenseTime down over 3%, and Hua Hong Semiconductor, Leapmotor, Baidu Group, Alibaba, and others down over 2%.

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and China National Offshore Oil Corporation rose over 5%, Zijin Mining and Sinopec rose over 2%.

Commodity futures opened, with fuel oil, LU fuel oil, and crude oil main contracts hitting the daily limit. Shanghai silver rose over 8%, methanol rose over 7%, asphalt, Shanghai tin, and liquefied gas rose over 5%, while Shanghai gold and plastic rose over 3%.

The main contract for the shipping index European line futures once hit the daily limit, with an increase of 15%.
