# Data shows that the takeaway war has led to an "irreversible decline" in restaurant prices, with 80% of merchants experiencing a decline in net profits

The latest data shows that since the food delivery war, 80% of restaurant merchants have seen a decline in net profit, with 35% experiencing a drop of over 30%. Additionally, 74% of merchants have encountered a decrease in average order value, with 53% reporting a decline of over 10%, and only 5% of merchants achieving an increase in average order value. Furthermore, dine-in businesses have been significantly affected, with 65% of merchants reporting a year-on-year decline in dine-in revenue. On February 27, Lixin Consulting released a research report titled "From Traffic Frenzy to Profit Decline: The Real Situation of Restaurant Merchants in the 'Subsidy War'." The report focuses on restaurant merchants in the food delivery subsidy war, surveying merchants across 31 provincial-level administrative regions in the country, with a total of 2,298 valid questionnaires collected
