# BGI Group CEO Yin Ye: Building the first line of defense for Healthy China 2030 with the precise vision of "prevention is better than cure"

At the time of the National Two Sessions, as we look forward to the grand blueprint of "Healthy China 2030," we must clearly recognize that the most advanced medicine is not about making a last-ditch effort under the surgeon's knife, but rather about precise defense before diseases occur. The core essence of true health economics lies in "prevention is greater than treatment." In recent years, BGI Genomics has collaborated with various local governments to push genetic technology from the laboratory to the vast market, transforming the concept of "prevention is greater than treatment" into actionable, measurable, and replicable livelihood projects, providing vivid empirical evidence and solid path references for the country's top-level design. Therefore, I respectfully suggest systematically summarizing and promoting these proven effective regional livelihood project experiences, elevating universal birth defect prevention and early cancer screening to an absolute priority in national public health actions, and incorporating them into the core action plan of "Healthy China 2030" for nationwide implementation.
