# Beisenet confirms the schedule for tariff increases, as early as this week

On March 4th, Jin Shi Data reported that U.S. Treasury Secretary Besant stated that Trump plans to raise the global universal tariff from 10% to 15%, a move likely to be implemented within this week. In an interview with CNBC, Besant responded to a question about when the tariff would be raised to 15% by saying, "It will likely be at some point this week." Last month, after the Supreme Court abolished most of Trump's previous tariff system, he implemented a 10% universal tax. Besant pointed out that the authorization period for the new tariff is only 150 days. He stated that during this period, the U.S. trade department will seek to utilize other legislative means to restore the tariff system that was already in effect before the Supreme Court ruling
