# Meta quietly establishes a new artificial intelligence engine, advancing towards the goal of "superintelligence."

According to media reports citing an internal memo, Meta Platforms (META) is quietly forming a new application artificial intelligence engineering organization to intensify its efforts towards the so-called "superintelligence" goal.

This new team will work in collaboration with Meta's superintelligence lab, focusing on building systems and data pipelines that help artificial intelligence models improve more rapidly over time. In the memo, executives described this work as creating a "data engine" that provides real-world feedback, evaluation, and training signals to the models, enabling them to continuously improve.

The organization will be divided into two teams. One team will be responsible for building tools and interfaces that connect Meta's artificial intelligence systems, while the other team will focus on executing specific tasks, such as generating training data, running evaluations, and feeding results back to the company's modeling team.

The department will be led by Maher Saba, Vice President of Meta Reality Labs. Internally, this structure is expected to remain relatively streamlined, adopting a "super flat" structure, with possibly up to 50 employees reporting to the same manager
